It took some doing with major changes along the way so as to meet the standards and quality levels of Walt Disney Pictures and it took time but the Disney quality was captured after Disney Pictures took its offer to Pixar to produce the highly successful computer-animated feature film Toy Story following its own highly acclaimed Tin Toy short film success in 1988. Wanting the films tone to be "edgier", production of Toy Story was postponed. Changes were many and varied before the final film version became a reality. With a rewritten script, and following numerous rejected story reels, Pixar, having a small team, moved forward to its 1995 release. And, then reaching another highly exclaimed summit of success, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures made the worldwide box office horizon tremble having achieved the highest grossing film upon its opening weekend, earning eventually more than $373 million, a figure well worth raving about. But, then this is Disney, its mark in time where the value of its successes reaches so high, that there is no limit to what can be done and has been done routinely. So, it is no wonder why, surrounding the Disney name and its relationships, are all the side attractions that support its world of creativity and humor. Spin-offs, merchandise, video games, and toys broaden the scope of the Disney touch on just the Toy Story creation. None of the many awards are considered trivial, least of all its 2005 induction into the National Film Registry. Missing Toy Story is not a choice, perhaps a mistake, a world where reality may not be real but it can be what Disney intended it to be after all the produciton work turned Top Story from what Disney decided could be better into reality.
